Nothing to request from us
Google Play asks every app to publish a route for deleting your data. Here is ours, and it is short: there is no server-side copy of your data, so there is no deletion request to send.
Budget Monitor India has no account, no login and no cloud sync. Your transactions, categories, accounts, notes, PIN and settings are written to a database inside the app's private storage on your phone. We never receive them, we cannot see them, and we could not delete them for you if you asked. Deleting them is something only you can do - which is also why it takes effect the moment you tap delete.
What we cannot help with, for the same reason: recovering anything after you delete it.
Back up first, if there is any doubt
Deleting is permanent. If you might want these records for tax, for a shop's books, or just for reference, export a backup before you start.
- Open the app and go to the backup or export screen.
- Choose JSON backup - this is the complete copy that can be restored later.
- Android's file picker opens. Choose where to save it: internal storage, an SD card, or a cloud folder if you use one. The app only ever sees the place you point it at.
- Optionally also export a PDF statement, which is easier to read but cannot be restored back into the app.
Delete a single entry
- Go to All Entries, or find the entry from the Dashboard or Calendar.
- Open the entry you want gone.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
The entry is removed from the database immediately, and every total, balance and calendar marker that included it updates straight away.
Delete an account and its transactions
Accounts are the sections you created, such as Personal, Office or Shop.
- Open the account list or the account selector.
- Choose the account you want to remove.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
Delete a category or a note
- Category - open your category list and delete the ones you no longer want. Categories are your own words, so removing one only affects how entries are labelled and grouped.
- Notebook note - open the Notebook, open the note, and delete it. Its calendar marker goes with it.
Remove the app PIN
- Open the app's settings.
- Turn off the app lock / PIN option.
- Enter your current PIN if asked.
Switching the lock off removes the stored PIN from the device. Remember that the PIN only ever guarded the app screen - it was never an encryption key, so removing it does not change anything else about your data.
Delete everything at once
This wipes the whole database, every setting, the PIN and the cache. It is the closest thing to a factory reset for the app.
- Open Android Settings.
- Tap Apps (on some phones: Apps & notifications, or Application manager).
- Find and tap Budget Monitor India.
- Tap Storage (or Storage & cache).
- Tap Clear data (sometimes called Clear storage), then confirm.
A quicker route on most phones: press and hold the app icon, choose App info, then Storage → Clear data.
Uninstall the app
- Press and hold the Budget Monitor India icon.
- Choose Uninstall, then confirm.
Uninstalling removes the app together with its private data, including the database, your settings and the PIN. Nothing of yours is left behind on any server, because nothing of yours was ever on one.
What deleting does not remove
Three honest footnotes, so nothing surprises you:
- Files you already exported. PDF statements and JSON backups are normal files. They stay wherever you saved them - internal storage, SD card, a cloud folder, an email attachment - until you delete them yourself. Clearing app data does not touch them.
- Google's advertising data. Ads in the app came from Google AdMob, and Google holds its own records tied to your device's advertising ID, not to any account with us. To deal with that, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices Settings → Google → Ads). See the advertising section of the privacy policy.
- Your Google Play install history. Google Play keeps a record that you installed the app, in your own Play library. You can remove it from your library in the Play Store app; that is a Google setting, not ours.
Want written confirmation?
Some people need something on paper - for an employer, a client, or their own peace of mind. Email budgetmonitorindia@iamtac.com and you will get a plain written statement that no personal or financial data from the app is held by us, along with these deletion steps.
There is no form to fill in, no identity to verify, and no waiting period, because there is no account to look up.
